Demonstrating what can only be characterized as a contemptuous nature and complete disdain for its workers the boss has once again reneged in its commitments to provide a healthy and safe workplace.
Despite their commitment to provide a proper rotation of duties for the "new" short & long section management has decided to tell us all to go to hell and is refusing to honour their commitment to a fair and equitable rotation pattern between the orgs.
With phoney smiles and pretentious concern for the well being of the workers they commit in consultation to honour the Collective Agreement knowing full well, as do we, they have no intention of investing time or money in anything that isn't a direct benefit to their bonuses and Moya Greene's inhuman agenda. SHAME ON THEM!!!
I have filed a grievance on behalf of every affected worker and have requested financial compensation in accordance with formal jurisprudence.
Within this arbitration decision it states:
...a mere statement by the board to the effect that the employer violated the collective agreement would not constitute an appropriate remedy because of the on-going violation of the said collective agreement.
On this matter, the board believes that the employer must respect the rules it adopts on its own authority.
.
To that end the arbitrator awarded financial compensation to the effected worker as a deterrent to the corporation.
Rotation of duties is our right and NOT a management afterthought!!!!
The boss has declared war on us and their actions are disgusting! Their repeated attacks on sick and modified workers, their elimination of jobs, their lack of proper job rotation, their daily harassment, their outdated and defective equipment, etc., have kept the Local Executive extremely busy but it has also become very frustrating for management at the same time. The harder they've pushed the more aggressively we've all pushed back!! The number of grievances the Local is filing, fighting and winning exceed any time in its history.
It's important we all continue to stand strong against these employer attacks in their pursuit of even greater profits. I again encourage everyone to work safely, report all injuries, request first aid when hurting and demand Union time when your rights have been violated.
In Solidarity,
Collectively we can defeat any agenda they throw at us!!!
