We've hear too many stories about the promises in the highlights to find our later in the details that the workers agreed to something that was a lie or was never going to work. It happened to us with the CTI bonus. Something we could have built into wages that we would still see the benefit of for all workers past, present and future. When was the last time we saw the CTI bonus? Over a decade ago at least. Yet management still gets their bonuses no matter what. It's in the fine print, not the highlights. Just like the true hidden details of the 700 page document. They just want to give us the highlights...

More than ever, it is time for everyone to stop and reflect. We are still at work. The parties are back at the negotiating table.
The OT ban remains in effect for a very good reason, to ultimately protect us should the need arise. As much as we may have different feelings about that, and maybe how we are achieving the common goal of improving our working conditions. We are all still ultimately trying to make out work floors better. It is a common struggle for all of us right now.
The local has received reports of tensions on the work floor. We must remain respectful to each other and maintain our solidarity. We are all human beings and deserve dignity and respect.
Why would we want the employer to see us being any other way. We don't ask for anything we don't expect of ourselves.
In solidarity.,
Tracey Langille
President Hamilton Local 548

There's a lot information out there and to try and clear up some confusion, the information as it stands right now is Canada Post appears to have conceded to the Union that IF they are going to enact any actions against us, whether that be suspension of the contracts or lock out, they're required to give 72 hour advance notice just as the Union did. Consequently, until such time as the boss serves that notice, we're still working under the collective agreements with all rights, benefits and protections.
That said, given the Union issued a 72 hour notice, we've actioned that notice by asking the Membership to refuse ALL overtime. It's still the Union's goal to negotiate fair and just collective agreements for the urban and RSMC bargaining units.
We'll continue to update you as more information comes out.

After walking away from the table for the third time, Canada Post will finally table their global offers today. Our negotiating committee is currently on the way to receive the proposals.
Once the offers are officially presented, we will take the time to carefully review the details of the offers to ensure they align with the priorities and needs of our members. We will provide a comprehensive update once we’ve completed our review and analysis.
Thank you for your continued patience and support. We will keep members updated and encourage you to sign up for eDigest to receive the latest Union news and updates directly in your email inbox.
