Help Save Canada Post!

HomeResources | Save Canada Post

Canada Post and the Conservatives are taking an axe to long-treasured postal services - killing good jobs, eliminating door to door delivery, closing post offices and drastically increasing postage rates.

You and your organization can help. Here are a few resources to help make it easy for you to contact your local MP; Lisa Raitt; and add your name to those who support this essential service.

2014.09.12 - Milton Save Door-to-Door Rally

Fighting Back in Milton, Binbrook, Ottawa & Hamilton

September 12-17, 2014

Members of our Fight Back  Committee participated in the September 12, 2014 Rally in Milton, where thousands of “Save Canada Post” cards were delivered to Lisa Raitt’s office. On September 13 and 14, Fight Back Committee member retired Sister Sharon Hambleton set up a booth with the NDP at the Binbrook Fair. She obtained over 100 petition signatures for the “ Save Door-to-Door” campaign.

Chris Charlton presented our petitions to the House of Commons on September 15, 2014, asking that the Conservative government stop the plan to eliminate door to door service. Brother Dave Rennie moved a motion at the September 17th H&DLC meeting which resulted in the H&DLC officially supporting Postal Workers, and the “Save Door-to-Door” campaign.
